What are Assessment & Development Centres?

At their simplest, both Assessment & Development Centres involve people taking part in a set of job simulations. The simulations cover the essential components of the job upon which the centre is focussed and people's performance is assessed against the qualities being examined. Individual behaviour is carefully observed, recorded, classified and evaluated to ensure that results are relevant, accurate and objective.

What are the benefits

Better informed decision making about selection and development from the increased quality of feedback, gained through using a range of different assessment techniques
Increased objectivity of selection and development decisions as participants can demonstrate their true skills across a wide variety of work-related competencies
The ability to make unbiased decisions based on the observations of a number of trained assessors for each participant
A legally sound selection process as OTR will develop a system that complies with best practice
Enhanced company reputation as both internal and external participants will value the time and effort you have invested in their assessment

Extensive research has shown that Assessment and Development Centres are one of the most reliable methods of obtaining accurate information about an individual's current
or future potential.
